ptk gear & prerequisites

You will need only three (3) items of equipment to begin training. (2 Rattan Sticks, 2 Rubber Knives & Safety Glasses) You will need to purchase some limited additional equipment once you gain more proficiency & skill.

 

Required Equipment 

  • 1 pair of Rattan Sticks of about 26" - 28" inches in length, 7/8" - 1/4" inches in diameter.

  • 1 pair of Rubber Training Knives. (Boker Applegate/Fairbairn Training Knives Recommended #02BO544)

  • 1 pair of Aluminum or Polymer Type Ginunting Trainers.

  • Eye Protection. (Meets ANSI Standards).

  • Folder Trainer Type (Kershaw/Emerson CQC-6T Recommended).

  • Lacrosse Gloves. 

  • Uniform Type: OD Green DTU/BDU & Any of our PTKSMFLA T-Shirt's Recommended. 

  • Proper Foot Wear (i.e. Solomon or LALO Type).

  • Our training is usually outdoors. Proper clothing suited for time of year & demographics. 

  • Fencing Mask or Air Soft Metal Mesh Full Mask.

  • Pen & Paper or Some Form of Note Taking Material.

  • Towel & Water (You Must Remain Hydrated At All Times).

  • Sunscreen.

  • Protein Bar or Nutritional Snack.
