Student Training in the PTK-SMF System is instructed progressively through three courses of qualification:

Fighter/Lakan Ranks (1-9) – Upon completion you are awarded KAWAL/Soldier Rank Qualification and progress to the Advanced Course.

MILITARY PTK-CQC SYSTEM
The Military PTK-CQC System is an Integrated Weapons and combative skills program in the Close Quarters Combat (CQC) system specifically formulated for the War-fighter and Spec-Ops Teams. The program was designed by Tim Waid. It is the only system in existence today that fully integrates individual combat weaponry (Bolo, Knife, Bayonet), Empty-Hands Combat, and Tactical Firearms employment through the application of the same tactical techniques - the system of the Edged Weapon.MILITARY PTK-CQC SYSTEM provides War-fighters with complete tactics, techniques, and skills for the close-quarters use of all personal weapons and field expedient weapons found on the battlefield and other environments.
The Foundation Strategy of PTK-SMF accomplishes 3 main initiatives:

Domination of the combat or self-defense encounter.
Combat Blade fighting tactics are executed according to this strategy – and applies to empty hand tactics and techniques. Tactics and training must provide skills for protection, evasion against opponents’ strikes, and the ability never to be hit. The methodology of a "live blade" system provides instant realization of this principle. Protection from strikes and attacks are accomplished by footwork mobility and maneuver, counter-offensive strikes, and by striking the opponent first. Opponent weapons are destroyed by direct strikes to the weapon hand or incapacitation by striking vital areas off-time of opponent’s strikes. Domination of close-quarters combat is executed by attacking, quartering, controlling, and neutralizing the threat regardless of terrain, environment, or multiple adversaries.

WHAT IS PEKITI-TIRSIA KALI
Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is the most complete, advanced, and effective system of Filipino Martial Arts in existence today. It is a true combat Blade Fighting System that employs all Edged and Impact Weaponry, Empty-Hands Combat, and integrates with the use of Modern Firearms.
Pekiti-Tirsia is a proven system of Combat Strategy and Tactics that provides Protection from Strikes and Attacks, Destruction of Opponents' weapons, and domination of any Combat or Self-Defense situation, executed with techniques that Attack, Quarter, and Neutralize Single or Multiple Opponents.
Officially founded in 1897, Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is the indigenous Close-Quarter Combat System of the Tortal family from Negros Occidental in the Philippines. Its current headmaster and sole inheritor is Grand Tuhon Leopoldo Tortal Gaje Jr., who learned this combat system from his grandfather, Grand Tuhon Conrado B. Tortal.
Today, Pekiti-Tirsia Kali has been adopted by Military Operators, Law Enforcement Officers, and Citizens across the free world. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is the Official CQC System of the Philippine Marine Corps and is the only CQC System recognized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
